A COMMUNITY church will be the recipient of a donation to their foodbank.

CBS Office Interiors, located in Ascot, has decided to give something back to the community, and has launched the ‘reverse advent calendar’.

The reverse advent calendar involves CBS donating food into the office each day, which will then be passed on to Kerith Community Church foodbank in Bracknell before the CBS office closes for the holidays.

Since starting their Reverse Advent Calendar, CBS employees have been donating long-life food items including staples such as tinned and dried food, along with treats for the Christmas period.

Sweets, chocolates, biscuits and Christmas puddings are welcome festive additions in a food parcel but so are ‘boring foods’ such as tinned vegetables and meat for a balanced diet.

Phil Green, CBS Office Interiors managing director, said: “It’s not too late to set up a similar scheme in your workplace, school or home. Local foodbanks will welcome your donations to help meet demand for food parcels during December and into the New Year.”

The Bracknell Foodbank operates from The Kerith Centre, Church Road, Bracknell, and is open for donations Monday - Friday 9:30-17:00 or Sundays 8:30-13:00 and 17:30-20:00.
