THE NEW company due to take over the day-to-day running of Coral Reef Waterworld has been announced by the council.

Everyone Active, an external leisure management company, will enter into a partnership with Bracknell Forest Council and from March 1 run Coral Reef, Bracknell Leisure Centre and Downshire Golf Complex.

The company is the longest established leisure provider in the country and currently operates more than 150 facilities across the UK.

It will take on a ten year contract with the potential for a further five year extension.

Vincent Paliczka, director for environment, culture and communities said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Everyone Active who has been selected to manage our facilities following a comprehensive review and tendering process.

"Everyone Active impressed the council with the quality of its submission, its record of service and facility improvement elsewhere in the country and its proposals to improve our leisure facilities.

"The partnership will benefit the local community and will generate savings for the council on a yearly basis.”

The new partnership comes only months after Coral Reef's £13million taxpayer-funded refurbishment was completed.

Duncan Jefford, Everyone Active regional director, said: “Bracknell Forest Council has invested heavily into the borough’s leisure facilities in recent months, and we are thrilled that they have chosen Everyone Active to help them build on this and create a healthier, more active community.

“We have extensive experience of managing community facilities across the country, including in a number of neighbouring districts, and look forward to bringing the same high-standard services to Bracknell.”

There will be public information session held on December 14 to introduce the company and discuss plans for the future.
