CAR PARKING prices at a multi-storey have been slashed again, just two months into life with The Lexicon next door.

The Princess Square car park in Bracknell came under fire earlier in the year when it was changed to a short-stay car park, and the prices were met with negative feedback from residents.

Now it seems that the U-turn from The Lexicon is as a result of poor footfall, with customers preferring to park in the Avenue car park and other surrounding facilities rather than use Princess Square.

It costs £10 for more than two hours at the short-stay car park, thus encouraging shoppers to only park at Princess Square for less than two hours.

Now, the prices have changed to reflect those of an all-hours car park.
For eight hours or more, the price is now just £7, with up to one hour at £1, while 2-3 hours is £3 and 3-4 hours is £3.50.

Rob Morris general manager for The Lexicon said: “Based on our experience of two months trading since The Lexicon opening we have reviewed the car park charges at Princess Square car park.

“The amended tariffs are competitive with other town centre car parks across all dwell times and we hope this will prove popular with our customers as we enter the Christmas period.’’
