TEMPORARY traffic lights could signal serious delays in Binfield as a section of water mains are examined.
From Monday, October 23 South East Water will dig exploratory holes in the footway along Forest Road, Binfield.
Chris Love, Delivery Manager at South East Water, said: “To make sure the public and our workforce are kept safe during this work, temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junctions of Forest Road, Terrace Road North and Terrace Road South for three days.
“As this is exploratory work and depending on the condition of the pipe, there is a chance we will need to return at some point in the coming months to install a new water main. As soon as we have more information on what the work will involve and when we plan to carry it out, more information will be given to the local community.
“We know roadworks can be frustrating for local residents and motorists but we will be working as quickly as we can to complete this work.”
