A PETITION signed by 70 per cent of households immediately affected by plans to build on fields was presented to the council.

At a full Bracknell Forest Council (BFC) meeting on September 13, the Hayley Green Residents Group delivered 451 signatures objecting to council plans to build 235 homes on green space surrounding the Warfield hamlet.

The group claims residents were not fully consulted about the development until a year after plans were first formulated and that the development should be more in keeping with the small 100 home settlement.

Reverend Doctor Tim Norman, chair of the group, presented the argument to the council.

He said: “Councillor Chris Turrell who is responsible for the planning portfolio thanked us for a clear presentation.

“He noted the fact that this is a long process and that the evidence we are gathering will be useful at a later stage.

“The line I finished on was ‘once the fields are gone they are gone forever’.”

BFC will now consider the evidence while examining how and whether to take the Warfield Neighbourhood plan forward.
