A TEENAGER has been flown to hospital where he remains in a 'stable condition' after falling from a bridge.
Shortly before 4pm a 15 year-old boy fell eight metres from a bridge over Mill Lane, Bracknell.
A spokesperson from South Central Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 15.55 with the caller reporting that at approximately 15-year-old male had fallen approximately 25 feet from a bridge over Mill Lane, Bracknell.
"We sent an officer in a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance and the air ambulance to the scene.
"He has sustained serious leg and hip injuries and after initial treatment at the scene has now been flown to the major trauma centre at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford."
Easthampstead School headteacher Liz Cook published a message online shortly after the incident.
It read: "Easthampstead Park School are fully aware that there has been an incident this evening involving one of their students.
"We are in contact with parents and would respectfully ask that people do not post any details about events as this is causing significant distress to all involved.
"If your child has any information please could they report to Raising Standards in the morning."
The road's surrounding the area remained heavily congested throughout the evening, with police declaring the roads fully opened shortly before 8pm.
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: "We were called to the Mill Lane at around 4pm yesterday (11/9) after reports of a fear for welfare of a teenage boy. The boy was injured and was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital.
"The boy remains in hospital but is in a stable condition."
