THE PUBLIC have been called on to nominate heroic paramedics in the ambulance service's annual awards ceremony.
Dubbed the Ambies, each year South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS) employees are put under the spotlight in recognition of their hard work.
Previously nominations were made internally. This year, for the first time, the People's Pride Award will put the power in the hands of the public.
Reasons for nomination can be varied, with SCAS suggesting those that put in extra long shifts, overcome adversity and promote the NHS get put forward.
Roger Ham, NHS Fleet Account Manager at award's sponsor O&H Vehicle Conversions, said: “We are proud to support the People’s Pride Award at this year’s Ambies, celebrating the professionalism, care and dedication of SCAS staff and volunteers.”
Nominations close at 10.00am on Friday 11 August.
Those staff and volunteers shortlisted for the People’s Pride Award 2017 will be invited to The Ambies Awards on the evening of Friday 24 November where the winner will be announced.
Nominations can be made online at www.scas.nhs.uk/ambies or by emailing your nomination to ambies@scas.nhs.uk
