A STOLEN make-up bag is believed to hold vital information as police continue to search for an attempted rape suspect.

A woman in her 20s was attacked near the Bill Hill Park area of Easthampstead earlier this month on July 1, but she managed to escape without any injuries.

Her handbag and the contents were however stolen and police carried out a number of searches near the woodland at the time.

Officers from Thames Valley Police were handed a make-up bag belonging to the victim, which led them to the discovery of the rest of her items.

They are now keen to speak with those people who found the make-up bag as they continue with their investigation.

She described the offender as 5ft 9ins, slim build, with light brown hair.

It is believed he was wearing tracksuit bottoms and a hooded top with the hood pulled up.

Detective Constable Michele Green, investigating the offence, said: “We are very keen for the witness who found the make up bag to contact us to help as we continue with our investigation.

“He can call us on 101 quoting reference 53 1/7.”
