A PATIENT survey has revealed the best and worst performing GP practices in Bracknell.

The worst performing practice in terms of patient satisfaction was Forest Health Group at Ringmead, Birch Hill.

Just 21 per cent of Forest Health patients were able to see or speak to their preferred GP, compared with the 56 per cent national average.

Patient satisfaction at the practice lags behind the national average in all but one section of the survey, with only 72 per cent of respondents saying the last nurse they saw involved them in decisions about their care, compared with the 85 per cent national average.

The GP Patient Survey is run on behalf of NHS England by Ipsos MORI and was sent out to over a million people across the UK.

The results show how people feel about their GP practice in terms of what it does best and what it could improve on.

At the other end of the scale, the best performing practice in Bracknell was Boundary House Surgery on Mount Lane.

Boundary House patients were most pleased with the short waiting times, with 89 per cent of respondents usually waiting 15 minutes or less after their appointment time to be seen, compared with the 64 per cent national average.

Elsewhere, 91 per cent of patients at The Waterfield Practice were happy with the convenience of appointments, though only 39 per cent got to see their preferred GP.

Ringmead Medical Practice receptionists scored well with 90 per cent of patients saying they are helpful, although the majority said they have to wait over 15 minutes for their appointment.

Great Hollands Practice and Evergreen Practice both scored well for patients being able to see their preferred GP.

Both practices fared less well in terms of nurse's care and explanations of treatments.

Forest Health Group declined to comment.
