A PRIMARY school was covered in yarn over the weekend.
In a bid to cheer up the exam stressed Year Six and Year Two pupils of Sandy Lane Primary School in Bracknell, governors teamed up with members of the Chavey Down Women's Institute to decorate the school.
Using yarn donated by Stichery Do in Wokingham and Hobby Craft in Reading, the colourful team spent Sunday (May 14) weaving patterns into the school's architecture.
Charlotte Ward, governor and parent of a Sandy Lane year two boy, said: "I had the idea to collaborate with the local WI and yarn bomb the school to give the students a little something to talk about. To get some conversation going in the playground.
"The WI did a lot of the knitting.
"The reaction on Monday morning was fantastic. The kids were running up to the gates and poking the pom-poms.
"It was lovely to watch, particularly on a rainy Monday."
