A THUG attacked an innocent man after kicking down residents' doors in a rampage last night.

At around 6.20pm on Tuesday, January 24 the offender began his spate of offences by causing criminal damage to two front doors.

Moments later he then flagged down a passing van in Arncliffe and assaulted the 35-year-old driver when he stopped.

His victim was rushed to hospital where he remains in a stable condition with serious head injuries and a shoulder injury.

A spokesman for Thames Valley Police said: "The incidents began in Chadwick Mews at about 6.20pm yesterday.

"A man caused damage to two front doors, and then flagged down a passing van in Arncliffe.

"When the driver, a 35-year-old man, stopped his vehicle, the offender seriously assaulted him.

"The driver sustained serious head injuries in the incident, as well as a shoulder injury."

The offender was then driven to another address in Deepfield Road where he committed another offence, the spokesman added.

He was eventually arrested by police after trespassing at the station.

“We are conducting a thorough investigation into this series of incidents and have made an arrest,” said detective sergeant Pauline Cameron.

“If anyone has witnessed any of the offences, or has any information which they think could be relevant to our investigation, please call us.”

A 32-year-old man from Bracknell was arrested at the station on suspicion of causing criminal damage, grievous bodily harm with intent, harassment and railway trespassing.

He remains in police custody.

Anyone with information should call 101.
