AN overturned car on the M4 between junctions 8/9 and 10 added to travel misery for commuters this morning.

Paramedics were called to the scene at around 7.50am eastbound following reports of a Mini having 'rolled three or four times and ended up on its roof straddling the first and second lanes'.

David Gallagher, a spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Service, said: "This is a single vehicle RTC rollover, involving a Mini.

"The driver was a 22-year-old male who got himself out of the vehicle and luckily only sustained minor cuts to his hands and face.

"We had two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance at the scene and he was taken to Wexham Park Hospital."

In Reading, an HGV was travelling west between junctions 12 and 11 when it flipped onto its side, closing two lanes early on Friday morning.

Police, fire and ambulanc crews were called to the scene after the lorry spilt bleach and diesel over the road near Reading Services at 4.45am.

As of 9.30am Highways England were flipping the lorry back upright and were unsure whether the lane would require a sweep-up or resurfacing before it would be back in action.
