THERE will be the opportunity for residents and businesses across Bracknell to find out more about £450k plans to upgrade water pipes in the town.

South East Water will be laying a new 1.4 kilometre section of water pipeline along Nightingale Crescent and Opladen Way, Bracknell.

Advanced construction work will be taking place from Monday, October 24, before work begins to lay the new pipe in Nightingale Crescent from Monday, November 21.

Members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions at a drop-in session between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday October 19 at the Garden Room, South Hill Park, in Ringmead.

To allow South East Water’s workforce to safely lay the new pipe, Opladen Way will be closed throughout the duration of the scheme, as well as nearby footpaths and subways. However access to homes and businesses will be maintained at all times.

Chris Love, Delivery Manager at South East Water, said: “This important project will allow us to secure future water supplies by allowing us to move large volumes of water around our network of underground pipes to ensure water gets to where it is needed most.

“We know roadworks can be frustrating but we will be working as quickly as possible to minimise inconvenience to local residents and businesses.

“Our public drop-in session will give people the chance to find out more about the scheme to ask any questions they may have.”

The scheme is expected to be complete in May 2017.

Updates on the scheme can be found at southeastwater/opladenway.

The scheme forms part of the company’s £424 million investment programme taking place between 2015 and 2020.
