A SANDHURST man assaulted by a gang of four men earlier this year was so traumatised by the attack it took him nine months to report the incident to police.

The victim, a 34-year-old man, was attacked by a gang of four men after wishing them a Happy New Year as he walked along Cambridge Road on January 1 this year.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which the man was too upset by to report to police at the time.

He was left with a serious head injury and leg injuries after the men ran towards him and launched their assault at around 1am.

Investigating officer, PC David Gardner, based at Bracknell police station, said: “This was a vicious attack which left the victim traumatised, so much so that he has only recently felt able to report this incident to us.

“I would encourage anyone who has any information about the incident to contact police by calling the non-emergency number 101.”
