A PLAN to create nearly 200 apartments in Bracknell town centre will be considered by Bracknell Forest Council planners tonight (Thursday).

The proposal to tear down Amber House and Northgate House in Market Street is one of the applications being considered by the planning committee at their meeting tonight, 7.30 pm.

If approved, developers Thames Valley Housing Association, will build 193 apartments in place of the old office block with two commercial units on the ground floor.

The commercial unit could include shops, financial and professional services, restaurants and cafes, business, non-residential institutions, leisure facilities and associated parking.

The application also details the provision of 191 accompanying parking spaces for the new building, eight of which will be allocated to commercial units.

Key issues such as impact on the appearance of the area, impact on residential amenity, impact on highway safety and affordable housing will be debated by the committee.

Additionally, sustainable drainage and community infrastructure tax impositions will also be discussed.

Application for Palm Hills Guest House in London Road is also under consideration.

It proposes that the existing outbuildings and office space be temporarily used as a children's indoor recreational area.

Hurst Lea in Tilehurst Lane also propose the erection of a new building following the demolition of the existing dwelling.
