THREE Bracknell players of the People's Postcode Lottery hit the jackpot last Saturday after their postcode won them £25,000 each.

Lyndsey Richardson, Ronald Jacobs and Darlene Eglington, all from RG42 2BY, got a surprise visit from celebrity and People's Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier, who delivered the prizes.

Ms Richardson was in total shock when Mr Brazier pulled out her cheque.

She said: “All I could think was – have I really won this? It will take a while to sink in I think.

“I’m looking at a safari holiday now, there are four or five places I really want to visit and this is going to help me get them ticked off the list.

“I’m going to the Serengeti to see the exotic animals up close and in their natural environment. Personally, I’d love to see a wild elephant – seeing them in a zoo just isn’t the same.”

Mr Jacobs will use his £25,000 to help his family and especially his granddaughter, whose car blew up several days before.

He said: “This has come at just the right time because I can help her out now. She’s so good to me, always calling me to chat and coming around for dinner. Now I can use my winnings to make her life a little easier.

“When I found out how much I’d won, I couldn’t believe it - I was flabbergasted. It’s a huge amount of money to win and I’ve won after playing for only a year.

“I have lived here for 63 years and now my postcode is finally paying dividends.”

Ms Richardson encourages everyone to sign up for the People's Postcode Lottery.

She added: “Not in a million years did I think I could win this much money, but I have. You could be next.”

The lottery is a charity that has raised millions for causes up and down the country, such as Bracknell children's autism centre Prior Court, as well as international organisations.
