A POLO match will take place on Saturday to fundraise for a charity that helps families of seriously-ill children.

The event - to be held at the Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club in North Street, Winkfield - will raise money for Sebastian's Action Trust, that looks after the well-being of sick children in the area.

The charity was set up by Jane Gates, from Binfield, in memory of her nine-year-old son Sebastian who died on Christmas Eve in 2003 from a rare childhood cancer.

Sebastian's last wish was for a holiday home to be built where seriously-ill children and their families could enjoy precious time together.

The afternoon, named the Mayor's Championship, as Bracknell Forest Mayor Tony Virgo will be attending, will feature the Eduardo Moore Cup.

There will be a champagne reception in a private enclosure to give guests 'a great view at the prestigious polo final', followed by afternoon tea.

It will also include entertainment and a raffle and Royal Borough Mayor Sayonara Luxton will also be in the crowd.

Cllr Tony Virgo said: "The idea is to help make polo appeal to the masses and it's a bit of fun to help raise some money for this great charity."

The polo match will officially take place between 2pm and 6pm, though gates will open at 1.30pm with a powerpoint presentation on the charity to greet guests, followed by a live band.

The dress code is smart casual.

Tickets are £30.
