BRACKNELL MP Phillip Lee will finally reveal whether he is in favour of a British exit from the EU or whether he is backing the remain campaign tomorrow, (Thursday, June 8), after months of political neutrality.

Dr Lee who has kept tight-lipped on his feelings around the EU referendum, will announce his own view at a discussion at The Frontline Club in London in the evening.

He will be joined by Tim Marshall, former Sky News diplomatic editor and foreign affairs correspondent, LSE Professor Mary Kaldor, professor Anand Menon, director of UK in a changing Europe at King's College, foreign affairs editor at Sky News, Sam Kiley and London Bureau Chief at The Washington Post, Griff White.

Speaking after a public EU talk he had organised at Wellington College last Friday, Dr Lee explained why he has decided to keep his opinion a secret until now.

He said: "This is a hugely important decision, which ever way you sit on it.

"This is a vote of the people, not of Westminster, and I have defined my role as trying to facilitate debate as much as I can.

"I made my decision before I made my decision on not to declare, I thought the best idea was to take a step back.

"It comes back down to the age old problem of trust, I made my mind long ago and I decided to hold my piece because I wanted to try and facilitate debate and understanding.

"Ultimately your vote counts as much as mine."
