Drivers are being warned of lane closures on dual carriageways in the borough over the next two weeks for work to get road sides cleared and cut back.

Bracknell Forest Council and its contractors will be undertaking gulley clearing, landscaping and street cleansing works at the side of main roads from today until Friday, June 3.

The work involves litter picking, grass and vegetation cutting and general clearing of debris which has built up.

Roads affected with lane closures during the works are Berkshire Way today and tomororw (Friday, May 20), Windsor Road at the Peanut Roundabout on Monday and Mill Lane next Tuesday and Wednesday (May 24 and 25).

There will also be up to six days of clearing on Bagshot Road between Bracknell Leisure Centre and the borough boundary with the work staggered to minimise disruption from lane closures.

This work will take place from Thursday, 26 May, to, potentially, Friday, 3 June.

All lane closures will be during off-peak hours from 9.30am to approximately 4pm.

Cllr Chris Turrell, executive member for planning and transport, said: “We take on these works regularly to ensure our road sides are clear of litter and vegetation does not grow too close to the carriageway. The lane closures help to ensure our staff and contractors are kept safe while they carry out their work.

“We have been unable to undertake this work on Bagshot Road since the Coral Reef roundabout project began in March last year so we anticipate a higher than normal build up of litter and the vegetation will have grown more.

“I thank motorists in advance for their patience during this work which will help the borough to look at its best.”
