THAMES Valley Police has referred itself to the Independent Police Complaints Commission after a car they were pursuing collided with another being driven by a member of the public in Warfield.
The IPCC will consider whether to investigate the incident where a Ford Fiesta being pursued by police collided with a Ford Focus in Maidenhead Road, leaving the male Fiesta driver with serious injuries.
The collision occurred at around 9.50am on Sunday near to Westhatch Lane.
The Fiesta driver remains at Oxford's John Radcliffe Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening at this time.
A passenger in the Ford Fiesta received minor injuries. The member of the public driving the silver Ford Focus also received minor injuries.
Thames Valley Police will not be commenting further at this stage and is awaiting the IPCC decision as to whether it intends to independently investigate the incident.
