A PEDESTRIAN called the emergency services after finding a seriously injured man in the street in the early hours of the morning.

Police say the young man was attacked by a gang of three men and suffered injuries to his face, neck, shoulder and arms.

The Good Samaritan took him inside before calling police and ambulance to the scene.

The injured man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he is in a stable condition.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "We were called at 12.35am to reports a man in his 20s had been assaulted on Freeborn Way.

"He suffered serious injuries but is now in hospital.

"We believe the victim was assaulted by three men. Anyone with any information can call us on 101."

David Gallagher a spokesman for the South Central Ambulance Trust said they were called to a nearby road after a pedestrian took the victim in.

He said: "We were called at 12.49 this morning to reports the person that called us had found a male in the street with injuries to his neck, shoulder, arms and face.

"They had taken him in and called us to Calfridus Way, where we attended with police.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle, an officer and an ambulance. One male patient was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital."
