A COMMITTED fundraiser is enjoying a trip for two to New York.

Kate Atkinson, raised the most money for the Thames Hospice during the annual Santa Dash through Bracknell's Swinley Forest.

The tickets were donated by Carole Farr, who works for international flight company BA Clubs Ltd. Her sister was a patient at the hospice during December 2014 and the start of 2015.

Kate's sister Hatti was just 24 when she died from a rare cancer. The two women were at treated at the Thames Hospice at any time.

Kate said: "I couldn't believe it when I received the call. I have never won anything in my life, and have always wanted to go to New York.

"I can only imagine that there has been some celestial intervention by my sister, Hatti.

"Firstly, for making me do a 5K run and, secondly, by guiding me to hound my friends and family for their financial support.

"I would also like to thank the gang who ran in her memory on that cold Sunday.

"Hatti would be so pleased that money is being raised for Thames Hospice.

"She was overwhelmed by how caring the team were to her and our family in those very difficult last few weeks. We will be forever grateful."

The 2015 Santa Dash raised more than £25,000 for the hospice.

Ms Fisher said: "It is ironic that both our sisters were at Thames Hospice at the same time.

"I am so pleased they have gone to such a lovely, deserving person and I hope she has a wonderful time.

"The work Thames Hospice does is so lovely and the staff are all so humble. I really cannot thank the Hospice enough for the love and support my family has received."

This year's Santa Dash will take place on Sunday, November 27.
