FIRE fighters tackled a blaze at a maisonette in the early hours of this morning.

Crews were alerted to the incident in Arncliffe, Wildridings at 3.53am and two pumps from Bracknell and Ascot fire stations rushed to the scene.

Ellie Gray, a spokeswoman for the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, confirmed the fire was dealt with using a hose reel and a positive pressure ventilation fan, which is used to help clear smoke.

Lee Hancock, crew manager at Bracknell fire station, said officers used two breathing apparatus to fight the flames.

A fire investigation is now ongoing.
