During the long slog to election day, staff at the Winning Post have been polling the opinion of their customers by offering a new menu with meals designed to reflect each of the five main political parties fighting for votes.
Hungry-voters could choose from a Conservative menu of Coalition hash served with Eric Pickles, Labour’s feature dish Tony Eggs Benedict, a Lib Dem offering of Sitting on the Fence Onion Soup and the UKIP-inspired White Chocolate Pudding. Winning Post manager Gregory Loison said: “The election is causing a lot of debate so we thought it would be fun to get involved. A lot of our customers remember shows like Spitting Image which brought a bit of humour to politics and that seems to be missing from this election.
“It will be interesting to see if people choose their dishes with their tummies or their political persuasions.” The menus have proven a hit with customers and the Winning Post will reveal the party with the most orders after election day.
