The Westminster Education Forum helps shape and influence national policy on schools and learning and invited LVS Ascot’s head, Christine Cunniffe, to speak about her experience in education for 14-19 year olds last Tuesday.

Mrs Cunniffe said it was a great honour to speak in front of politicians and MPs including Ken Clarke, Chris Grayling, Andy Burnham and David Blunkett.

She said: “It was a great honour to be invited not just to be part of this forum, but also to speak and share our beliefs here at LVS Ascot. It is testimony to our own progressive policies and strategies that the invitation was received, and one which I was delighted to accept.

“The forum is crucial in driving education policy forward as it provides a cohesive approach and gives stakeholders the opportunity to engage with policymakers.” Other speakers at the forum included Professor Jeremy Higham from the University of Leeds and Brenda Yearsley who is a schools and education manager at tech-giant Siemens.

Director of education at LVS Ascot, Ian Mullins, said: “We are very proud that Christine was chosen to speak at such a key event as the Westminster Education Forum.

“We are committed to providing a bright future for students at LVS Ascot, but to have the opportunity to help shape policy on a wider level is pleasing and confirms our vision is one that others wish to share”.
