After six people were arrested on day two on Wednesday, the six people were arrested for a variety of offences including failing to comply with an order to leave Ascot Racecourse, assault and being drunk and disorderly.

Three men were arrested for failing to comply with a dispersal order to leave the racecourse due to their behaviour at the time. They were later released from police custody without charge.

One man was charged with assault and has been bailed to attend Slough Magistrates’ Court on July 7.

Another man was charged with being drunk and disorderly and has been bailed to attend Slough Magistrates’ Court on July 7.

A 26-year-old man was arrested by British Transport Police for a public order offence. He remains in police custody at this time.

Chief Inspector Jim Weems, deputy silver commander for the event, said: “We are expecting today to be another very busy day with crowds in the region of 64,000. This is slightly less than the number of race-goers who attended yesterday.

“Policing of the event is going well so far as we enter day four of Royal Ascot with no issues or concerns to report.”

Nobody was arrested on the first day of Royal Ascot, on Tuesday.
