Sunningdale pupils are double science challenge winners

Charters School sent three teams to an inaugural STEM Box Challenge organised by Royal Holloway, University of London. It tested their science, technology, engineering and maths skills.
Nearly 30 Year Nine pupils from the school, based in Charters Road, Sunningdale, competed against other schools, participating in three challenges – learning how to build an internet connection, monitoring earthquakes with a seismometer and building a vehicle to take on three tasks.
Despite fierce competition, the youngsters won the internet and vehicle challenges and came a close second in the earthquake challenge.
Contestants were also given a tour of the university college, based in Egham, and could ask questions about different degrees available.
