FAMILIES enjoyed a trip to the movies when a community hall in Sunninghill hosted a film event.

Cordes Hall showed four films across Saturday – Hop, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2, Easter Parade and The Butler – attended by 150 people in total.

Despite having a disappointing turnout for 1948 classic Easter Parade, the hall enjoyed a healthy crowd for the children’s films.

Vanessa Cummings, the hall’s treasurer, said: “People don’t seem to be into the classic films, with with children’s films and blockbusters we seem to attract a lot of people which is good.

“However, everybody always leaves us great feedback and it was another fun weekend for everyone. For future film days at the hall we’d love to have movie suggestions from residents.” Visitors could tuck into popcorn while watching the films and there were soft drinks for youngsters and a licensed bar for adults.
