Ella Passell, eight, has been named as one of the 140 regional winners - and only one of 13 in the South East region - in the Royal Mail’s Christmas stamp competition.
The competition’s theme is 'What does the Christmas season mean to you?”, with Ella beating off about 240,000 other entrants.
Local judges will then choose two stamps from each region to make it through to the national finals, where two designs will be chosen by the Prince Of Wales to appear on the first and second class stamps.
The Marist Preparatory School student has already bagged herself £100 and also £100 for her school, with this amount set to increase if her effort goes further in the competition.
Only twice before in the Royal Mail’s history have the Christmas stamps been designed by children - in 1966 and 1981.
The stamps will be on sale from November 5. To view the stamp designs visit www.royalmailstampcompetition.com
