Charters School held its annual presentation evening on September 12, with international businesswoman Anna Dingley - who left the school in 1992 - coming back as guest speaker.
During the evening the former student helped present awards along with Royal Borough deputy mayor Cllr John Lenton to sixth formers who had made an outstanding contribution to the Charters Road school.
The types of awards included highest achievement in A-level results, recognition for charity fundraising, outstanding service to the school and a student who had been an inspiration to others.
Martyn Parker, the school’s co-headteacher, said: “It was lovely to welcome back our sixth form leavers to celebrate their excellent examination results and the wonderful contribution they made to the wider life of the school.”
Miss Dingley said: “It was such a pleasure to go back to school!
“There was a palpable sense of community spirit, striving for personal goals, and studying hard, which made me all the more proud of going to Charters myself many years ago.”
