Tulips planted for hospice

The Bracknell in Bloom committee has planted 1,200 bulbs to mark the silver anniversary of the charity Thames Hospicecare, which runs a hospice in Windsor and a day centre in Ascot.
Helen Barnett, a member of the Bracknell in Bloom committee and marketing manager for Bracknell Regeneration Partnership, said: "This is a great start for next year, and shows our commitment to the borough all year round. It is also fantastic that we were able to support Thames Hospicecare at the same time. We are excited to see the tulips in full bloom!"
The Toronto tulips have been planted at six sites across the borough as part of Thames Hospicecare's Little Gardens initiative, in which different groups can support the hospice by buying bulbs to plant across the east Berkshire and south Buckinghamshire.
The bulbs planted by the Bracknell in Bloom committee - made up of Bracknell Town Council, Bracknell Forest Council and housing association Bracknell Forest Homes - are marked with a plaque.
They are planted at the town council-maintained sites Great Hollands Recreation Ground in South Hill Road; Larges Lane Cemetery in Bullbrook, and the Jock's Lane Recreation Ground in Priestwood.
Bracknell Forest Council planted bulbs near the Thames HospiceCare shops in Oakmede Place, Binfield, and Yorktown Road, Sandhurst, and Bracknell Forest Homes planted some in Nettlecombe, Crown Wood, where it also has plans to add some shrubs.
