A RECYCLING centre in Sunningdale has been removed following repeated incidents of fly-tipping.

The site in the London Road car park has become a dumping ground for rubbish rather than an area for recycling, Sunningdale Parish Council says.

The Parish Council has worked with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) over the last few years to try to find a solution to the ongoing problem.

but despite repeated additional visits by council contractors and waste companies, the fly-tipping has persisted, leaving the Parish Council with no choice but to remove the facilities.

Residents can leave their recycling on the road side to be collected by RBWM, with the added incentive of participating in the Green Redeem Scheme which rewards residents for recycling.

Wheelie bins are weighed as they are collected, and the weights are turned into points for the household. The points can then be redeemed in a variety of shops and businesses, donated to local good causes or used in a monthly prize draw.

If you have larger items to remove, this can be arranged by contacting the RBWM customer service team on 01628 683800 or by visiting www.rbwm.gov.uk.
