THE ROYAL Foresters will re-open in July rather than June, after a delay.

The pub, located on London Road, was set to re-open in time for Royal Ascot, but instead will open its doors on July 12.

The Foresters has been closed for three years and has been under constant threat of housing development.

Royal Foresters’ General Manager, Malcolm Coulter, said: “Our company’s CEO, Peter Borg-Neal, has always loved this site and was determined to turn it into a really top quality pub and to give it the status the area deserves.

"I firmly believe that everything we have planned and developed here will meet that aspiration.”

The owner of the site, Oakmann Inns, has invested roughly £10m in the land in order to redevelop the pub.
