AN ORGANISED crime group may be responsible for targeting homes across the Royal Borough in a bid to steal residents' cars which are parked outside.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) has said it is linking a series of burglaries on Wednesday, July 26, where burglars gained entry to properties and stole car keys. They then stole or attempted to steal vehicles at the addresses in Sunningdale, Old Windsor, Wraysbury, Ascot and Dedworth.

TVP urged residents to ensure their homes were secure and to be vigilant at all times.

Between 9am and 5pm offenders gained entry to a property in Devenish Road, Sunningdale and stole two vehicles – a white Audi Quattro and a red Audi Estate.

Between 1.30pm and 2.30pm in Staines Road, Wraysbury a set of Mercedes keys were stolen, but the vehicle was not taken.

At around 1.50pm offenders gained entry to a property in Mafeking Road, Wraysbury but stole nothing.

Between 2pm and 3.30pm entry was made to a home in Church Road, Old Windsor. It is currently unknown if anything has been stolen.

Between 2.30pm and 3.00pm offenders stole a silver Nissan GTR Coupe from a property in Burleigh Road, North Ascot.

And at around 4.15pm at a property in Manor Road, Dedworth, a grey Audi RS4 Quattro was stolen from the property after keys were stolen - as well as the keys to a safe. A white BMW and a black Mercedes were seen in the area at the time.

Detective Inspector Jason Kew based at Maidenhead Police Station, urged residents to be vigilant and to report anything suspicious they see in their neighbourhoods.

He said: “Burglaries often increase during the summer months, when burglars take advantage of people leaving doors and windows open during the warmer weather or leaving homes unoccupied when they go on holiday.

“All homes that were broken into were targeted for the vehicles at the property. We are working on what we believed to be an organised crime group targeting cars. We are working hard to apprehend the offenders and locate the stolen vehicles.

“If anyone witnessed any of these incidents or any suspicious behaviour in the areas at the time, please call Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101 quoting reference ‘43170221664’.

“Alternatively, information can be given to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via their website.”
