AN 18-YEAR-OLD student has become a parish councillor just weeks after taking his A-Levels.
Jordan Masters, a student at LVS Ascot, has been elected to Winkfield Parish Council to claim victory for the Conservatives in the Ascot Priory ward.
Councillor Masters received 59% of the vote against Labour Party candidate Michael Karim at the election on Thursday, July 20.
The student cut his political teeth last year by completing a week’s work experience in the office of Conor Burns, MP for Bournemouth West, Alderney and Branksome East.
LVS Ascot Principal Christine Cunniffe said: “LVS Ascot is a special place where every student can flourish as an individual and exceed their expectations.
"Jordan is a prime example of that – his dedication has been fantastic in gaining the experience, supported by the school, that has allowed him to achieve this important position in the local community.
"We wish him all the best in his new role and look forward to following his political career with interest”.
