NEARLY 700 merry makers enjoyed a free fete on Sunday courtesy of Ascot Life Church.
Held at the Ascot Heath Church of England Junior School, the family fun day featured a hog roast, bouncy castle and cookery demonstration.
The event was funded by the Baptist church, both through general funds and the generous donations of individual members, who also ran stalls.
Dave Rogers, a church leader, said: "Every year we put on a family fun day. It's our gift to the community.
"There is no money raising or entrance fee. For us, it's an opportunity to get the community together with lots of fun, great activities.
"The day is a gift from the church and a picture of how we view what God has done for us.
"It was really beautiful weather."
At the end of the fete a church service was held in a tent.
Ascot Life Church meet on New Road where, amongst other activities, a kids club is held once a month and food parcels are distributed as part of the Bracknell Food Bank.
