DEDICATED staff who work tirelessly for their patients were recognised at an annual awards ceremony.

Every year the Frimley NHS Foundation Trust holds the ceremony to honour nurses, care assistants, medical secretaries and transport managers.

Employees and Trust members gathered at the Royal Berkshire Hotel in Ascot on Thursday, April 6 for the award ceremony.

Trust chairman Pradip Patel told staff the awards: “You make a real difference to people’s lives and you are there when people need you the most, when they are not well.

“And sometimes it can be a matter of life and death. You provide them with great, compassionate care so they can get well again and be reunited with their families.”

Among those honoured was clinical care nurse specialist Corinne Quinn, part of Frimley Park’s team caring for people with complex, long-term health problems.

She single-handedly set up a home therapy service allowing patients to self-administer their treatment.

While bereavement support worker Linda Porter received an award for instigating and organising memorial services at Frimley Park for those who have lost loved ones there.

A total of 30 awards were given out on the night, with a further 14 colleagues receiving certificates of achievement.
