ST GEORGE'S School in Ascot is enjoying another pleasing set of GCSE results.

A perfect 100 per cent of Year 11 girls achieved the old national benchmark of five A*-C passes, while 83 per cent scored all A*-B grades.

This year 42 candidates took an average of 9.86 GCSE subjects.

The top performer was Lily Caines, who clinched an outstanding eleven A*s. Not far behind were Marsha Ilina and Antonina Kudryashova from Virginia Water, both of whom achieved ten A*s and two As, while classmate Hannah Chahal attained an impressive nine A*s and one A.

Headmistress Rachel Owens said: "Our reputation is built on consistency and I am delighted that St George’s has maintained another fantastic year of results!

"St George’s girls are encouraged to work conscientiously and to the best of their ability and this, combined with inspirational teaching has delivered this excellent set of results.

"We are particularly pleased with our value-added score this year, which shows that we continue to add significant uplift to our girls’ achievements.
