A WOMAN was found injured in a ditch after she was thrown from a car in a collision in Sunningdale.

She was spotted lying at the side of London Road after her Peugeot estate left the road and collided with a lamppost and road sign before coming to a rest in the fence of a home.

No one else was involved in the crash but the woman had to be rushed to Frimley Park Hospital after complaining of lower back pain.

Firefighters from Bracknell fire station raced to the scene at around 9pm last night and administered initial first aid and made the vehicle safe while they awaited the arrival of ambulance crews.

Crew manager Mark Crawford said: “It was a single vehicle which had left the road and collided with a lamppost and street signage, landed in a ditch and gone into the fence of a large house.

“The female driver was thrown from the vehicle, treated by ambulance staff and taken to hospital.

“We don’t know exactly how she left the vehicle, it was quite a mess there.

“There was very little we could tell other than she ended up in the ditch and was in a very bad way.”
