GRIEVING families will have more choice when saying goodbye to loved ones thanks to the opening of a new chapel.
Easthampstead Park Cemetery and Crematorium opened the new state-of-the-art facility, named Wellington, on Monday, which can offer seating for 100 people and extra standing room for larger services, allowing the site to run up to 14 services a day.
The work is part of a wider scheme which will increase parking spaces within the grounds by nearly 50 per cent, along with a new road layout, to allow for better traffic flow.
Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, resources and public protection said āIām delighted to be part of the opening of the new Wellington chapel today, a welcome addition to the facilities at Easthampstead Park Cemetery and Crematorium. The new chapel, along with improvements at the site will help provide a more comprehensive service for residents and their families.ā
