RESIDENTS of a street in Bracknell are being terrorised by an unlikely villain - a peacock.

The residents of Sherwood Close have been joined by what they believe to be a young, male peacock for the last two weeks, and are now desperate to find his rightful owners.

Julia Palmer told the Bracknell News: "He appeared around two weeks ago and seems to have made himself at home on top of my neighbour's garage.

"A few of the neighbours have contacted various wildlife and animal charities, but because peacock's aren't technically wild animals there isn't anything they can do.

"We think he may have come from one of the estates in the area, as we are quite close to Lily Hill Park. We have called round to a few places, and put appeals out on social media, but no-one has come forward to claim him.

"At first I thought it was a female as it doesn't have any tail feathers yet, so I called it Sher. But now we think it could be a male we've renamed him Woody.

"We are getting a bit desperate now as he has started calling at 5.10am every morning, it sounds like a fog-horn. He has also started pooing on my neighbour's porch and eating their flowers, so I think it's time for him to go home."
