BRACKNELL Forest park’s play area refurbishment was celebrated last week after councillor Iain McCracken re-opened the site.

Money secured from local development funds helped to replace play equipment and provide the park with new play units, springers, spinners, a balance trail and a tunnel.

Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, resources & public protection, said: “It’s a real pleasure to be able to provide these new play facilities at this award winning park.”

“It was great to see such a positive reaction from the children using the new play equipment for the first time and I hope that many more children and young families will be able to enjoy these facilities for years to come.”

New educational signs were also installed at the site which gives children and adults the chance to learn about Bracknell’s historical figures, such as the poet Alexander Pope.

The elected member was joined by children from Newbold School to cut the ribbon which officially reopened the area on Tuesday, July 10.
