It’s ace news for Wokingham’s tennis enthusiasts as the council has announced that its playing courts have been refurbished at Chestnut Park.
However a court costs £8 per person, meaning a doubles match would total £32 - almost half of the price of an annual family member pass.
Councillor Norman Jorgensen, executive member for environment, sports, environmental health, leisure and libraries, said: “These enhanced courts help us to provide even more excellent, low cost opportunities for our local residents to enjoy sport.
“Tennis is a great way for all of people of all ages and abilities to keep fit, stay healthy and have fun.”
Those with a hawkeye will notice new fencing, court markings, refurbished nets and improved security.
The courts will be run by operator GDtennis, who also oversee the facilities at Cantley Park.
A one-hour game at the Cantley Park facilities cost players the same amount - but evening games are available to locals for £13.00 an hour due to flood lights being turned on.
Those who purchase a family membership for £65 will be able to use their pass at both sites.
