FOOTBALL'S Coming Home has competition as the best England World Cup song after a primary school in Bracknell gave it a go.

Harmans Water headteacher Alison Wyld wrote and recorded the song called 'Come On England', the video for which features students dressed in football kit singing and dancing along to the tune.

Erica Turney, a teacher at HarmansWater, explained that the idea came after the boys won a schools football competition.

Ms Turney said: "I challenged Mrs Wyld to make a video after everyone else was doing the snow day ones, and I thought she could do better.

"She took the time out at home to write the music and record the backing track, and she wrote the words.

"When she told the kids about it they were so excited and couldn't wait to film it."

Luckily, the video was filmed on the same day as the school had a non-uniform day, so the children were instructed to come in wearing football shirts if they owned any.

Ms Turney said: "The children had a great time filming the video, which we've been putting together for the last few weeks.

"We put a message at the beginning to say we've just won a cup and now it's England's turn.

"We are really excited about the forthcoming tournament and hope that England will do us proud."
