BRACKNELL Town Council has elected a new mayor.

During the council's Annual Meeting at Braybrooke Community Hall on Tuesday,May 15 Cllr Sandra Ingham was elected as the new town mayor for 2018/2019.

Cllr Ingham will represent the town at a variety of events throughout the year and raise money for her chosen charities, Youth Outreach Learning and Participation Programmes at South Hill Park.

Cllr Roger Meakes was elected to serve as deputy mayor.

Outgoing mayor Cllr Clive Harrison raised more than £2,500 for his chosen charities, Keep Mobile Country Tours and Ascot Area Alzheimer’s support group, and attended 100 engagements during his mayoral year.

Cllr Ingham said: "I am pleased to announce my chosen charity for the year is Youth Outreach Learning and Participation Programmes at South Hill Park.

“I believe that youth engagement produces positive outcomes both for the young people involved and the local community and reaching out to vulnerable young people through the arts is a key aspect of South Hill Park’s ethos."
