A TEENAGE boy was knocked off his bicycle on his way to school and taken to hospital.

The driver of the vehicle which hit the boy, believed to be a grey-coloured car, failed to stop and check on the victim.

The incident took place on Wiltshire Road, Wokingham, at 9.50am on Tuesday May 8.

The boy was taken to Royal Berkshire Hospital after suffering cuts and bruises, but was released.

He made off in the way of Wokingham town centre after failing to stop.

Investigating officer PC Justin Aylin-White, of the Joint Operations Unit for Roads Policing based at Three Mile Cross, said: “I am appealing for anybody who may have seen this incident to contact me.

“Likewise, if anyone was driving in the area at around that time, who may have dash-cam footage of the incident, please call the non-emergency number 101, quoting URN 384 (8/5).

“Fortunately, the cyclist did not sustain serious injuries, but it could have been far worse, and I am also urging the driver of the vehicle to come forward.”
