CASHIERS are being targeted by a scam, with two reports recently of offences in Bracknell and Woodley.
The scam revolves around two customers entering a garage store and buying a bottle of water, or an item of similar low value.
The customer pays for the item, which would cost roughly £1 or £2, with a large note, before asking for the change at lightning speed, confusing the cashier, and ensuring they come away with more money than they came with.
A pair of men, both white, one in his 20s and one in his 30s, have been spotted doing this and seem to be targeting younger cashiers.
If shop workers believe this suspicion could be taking place, they are encouraged to ring 999 immediately.
