EVERYONE ACTIVE has officially taken over the day-to-day running of three of Bracknell's leisure facilities.

The company took on the management of Bracknell Leisure Centre, Coral Reef Water World and Downshire Golf Complex on Thursday March 1.

They have entered into a ten-year contract with the council, but the ownership still remains with the council.

Cllr Iain McCracken, executive member for culture, resources and public protection at Bracknell Forest Council, said: "The Council has a long-established reputation for first-class leisure provision and it is important to us that this is at the very least maintained for our residents and visitors alike.

"Everyone Active has an excellent leisure management reputation and importantly is prepared to invest in our facilities and staff. I look forward to working with our new Everyone Active management team."

Everyone Active is expected to invest money into the leisure facilities in order to improve them, and it is not yet known whether or not the ten-year contract can be extended in 2028 when it will expire.

Regional contract manager at Everyone Active, Ian Cook, said: "We are delighted to have officially started our partnership with Bracknell Forest Council to manage its fantastic leisure facilities. We make it a priority to ensure that each of our centres meets the unique needs of its local community, and we are excited to become a driving force behind improving the health and well being of people in Bracknell.

"It is a really exciting time for sports and leisure in the borough. We have a number of exciting upgrades planned at Bracknell Leisure Centre, which will help Everyone Active and the Council to achieve our joint aim of encouraging more people to get active."
