THE 'Actives Team' has started a new discount card to improve the health of children.

The scheme, launched by Joel James, is set up to try and combat childhood obesity and unhealthiness in the young.

The 'Actives card' means parents can now find discount deals and offers at local activity centres.

If you're looking for a free taster session or discount at places such as Go Ape, Bracknell Ski Centre & Ice Rink, Hollywood Bowl, or perhaps something like roller skating, the card allows you to try out over 50 types of physical activities.

Founder of The Actives Card, Joel James said: “The only way that we as a society are going to solve the childhood obesity issue is for all key stakeholders to work together and The Actives Card is a great platform that everyone can use and benefit from to help children become physically active every day.”

The Actives Mascot Active Alfie kicked off the Actives Card campaign by visiting the pupils at Uplands Primary School and Nursery and Ascot Heath Infants School who were the first two schools to buy the cards for all of their pupils to benefit from.

A parent from Uplands Primary School said: “We really appreciated our school buying these great money saving cards to help us (parents) make it more affordable to help our children get more active, it really is a win-win."
