POLICE are unsure if there is a connection between four assaults on women.

The incidents in Winnersh, Woodley and Bracknell were all carried out in the space of two weeks.

On November 2, a 36 year-old woman was walking in a park in Winnersh, when she was grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground by a man, who attempted to remove her clothing.

Luckily, the woman was walking her dog at the time, and the dog became aggressive, and scared off the attacker.

A man was arrested on suspicion of this, but released without charge and removed from investigation, before an E-fit was released of a man police want to speak to.

Just over a day later, a 25 year-old woman was walking in Coopers Hill, Bracknell, when she was grabbed from behind by a man, who dragged her towards a bush, before attempting to remove her clothing.

The woman was able to wrestle away from the man, before running away from the scene.

On Wednesday November 13, a woman in her fifties was pushed from behind by a man while walking in Sandford Park at 6:05pm.

She fell to the ground and required medical treatment, as the attacker ran from the scene.

Just an hour before this, a 13 year-old girl was pushed from behind while walking in Lysander Close, just a minute's walk from Sandford Park.

She managed to free herself from the man, who had grabbed her arm, and fled the scene with help from a passing motorist.

Thames Valley Police have said they do not know whether or not the incidents are linked, or which incidents could be linked to each other.

A police spokesman said: "Officers looked into the possibility that the attempted rape in Winnersh could be linked to the sexual assault in Bracknell.

"However, they have now established that they do not believe there is a link between these two incidents.

"Officers are keeping an open mind over whether the assault in Woodley of the woman in her 50s and the assault of the teenage girl, also in Woodley, are linked.

"They are also keeping an open mind as to whether the assault of the woman in her 50s and the attempted rape in Winnersh are linked."
